Romania is a country of contrasts; from the beautiful, busy capital of Bucharest with its shops, palaces and fast pace of life to the dramatic snow covered mountain ranges with their amazing wildlife and stunning views. It is a country largely unspoilt by tourism and the visitor can be sure of getting a genuine taste of elusive Eastern European culture. 

Romania also has excellent ski resorts. The most popular of which is Poiana Brasove, which is a purpose built resort set in the pine forest of the Carpathian Mountains. It has slopes for all levels of ability and a lively après ski. There is also a great range of activities available for non-skiers including tours of "Vlad the Impaliar's" former castle.
