Paxos is a charming Greek island around fourteen kilometres south of Corfu. Paxos has often been called a Greek island in miniature; tiny villages, tiny beaches and tiny hills. The island is also covered in plants, trees and flowers and spring brings a riot of fragrance and colour. Paxos is also home to a quarter of a million olive trees and some of the best olive oil in the world is made on the island. And with just three small villages on the whole of the island this is a brilliant destination for unwinding away from crowds, commercialisation and the rigours of modern life.
Famous for:
-"Erimitis" (which means the Hermit) bar which sits high above the cliffs of the west coast and commands an incredible view of the sunset.
When to go: Late spring and early autumn are the best times to visit. Conditions are perfect between Easter and mid-June. July and August are best for sun worshipers.
