The third largest of the Greek Cyclade Islands Paros has over 120 kilometres of coastline. It is an extremely popular tourist destination and it's not difficult to see why. Exquisite white sandy beaches, pretty fishing hamlets and fantastic local cuisine bring eager holiday makers here in their thousands. However the island remains comparatively unspoilt and there are numerous things to see and do. Star attractions include the incredible Valley of the Butterflies where the fresh water spring and dense foliage attract thousands of brightly coloured tiger moths to mate each year. You can also explore the famous marble quarries of Marathi which have produced the raw material for some of the world's most treasured ancient statues and the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte.
