A land of glaciers, fjords and Viking heritage, Norway is a country of natural wonders. Many take a holiday to Norway to experience the Northern Lights in winter, but there are many other sights to be seen whilst there. Take a trip to the Royal Palace in Oslo, the Fish Market in Bergen or the Cathedral in Tromso. There are also many cable car rides available around the country which provides stunning views of the mountainous countryside, fjords and coasts from breathtaking heights.
Golf is an extremely popular activity for people taking a short break to Norway, as are water sports such as kayaking and canoeing. In winter there are excellent skiing possibilities on the mountain ranges, although Oslo has a purpose-built ski jump which is open all year round.
There are a large number of restaurants and bars in Norway, but be warned that food and drink is very expensive. Perhaps take a trip to one of the local supermarkets or fish markets and sample the local produce, this will ensure that you don't break the bank when on holiday in Norway.
Shopping is targeted towards tourists, with a large number of souvenir shops on offer, although original Scandinavian furniture and clothing can be found if you look hard enough.
