Mykonos is a rocky, treeless yet very beautiful island with numerous sandy beaches and enchantingly pretty villages. However many of the tourists that flock here year after year are drawn to Mykonos' wilder, more glamorous side. The island boasts endless all night bars, chic restaurants, fabulous drag shows and opulent jewellery shops.
However, there is more to the island than glitter and good times. Its central reservoir lake is the scenic home for thousands of migrating birds and there are numerous sites of archaeological interest. Mykonos town is extremely picturesque and well preserved. The beaches are golden and the surrounding waters are clear and warm. However, it's the islands reputation for being a fashionably glitzy party playground that continues to attract an international jetset crowd.
