Holidays to Vafkeri

One of the most enchanting of the Ionian islands, Lefkas, also known as Lefkada, attracts many visitors during summer yet manages to remain largely traditional and unspoilt. 

The swing bridge which links it to the mainland means it enjoys an island atmosphere as well as easy access to some of the most beautiful parts of mainland Greece. 

The east coast of the island is sheltered, with pine and olive trees growing down to the lovely beaches and clear turquoise waters. In contrast, the west coast is rugged and open with sheer white cliffs towering above an azure sea. There are some fabulous beaches on the west coast, many only accessible by boat. 

Inland, the landscape is mountainous and refreshingly green with a myriad of traditional villages to explore, including Vafkeri where our villas are located. Others, such as Karia, are well known for their traditional crafts.
The island's cultural history is rich, but for the more active, Ithaca is great for mountain biking and sailing, with equipment and instruction available (payable locally).
