Holidays to Riga

The capital of Latvia and the largest city in the Baltic States, a holiday to Riga is bound to be filled with the culture and tradition that oozes from its every pore. From the magnificent organ inside the Dome Cathedral, to the viewing platform at the top of the spire of St. Peter¿s Church, Riga is full of history and customs.

If you are planning on shopping during your holiday in Riga, you will be pleasantly surprised. The shopping opportunities have increased in recent years, perhaps with the increasing tourist trade, and now boast several large shopping centres and malls, including the Latvian equivalent of Harrods. For those looking for more traditional souvenirs and products, do not worry. There are still plenty of shops selling handicrafts and a couple of large open markets which sell just about everything Latvian.

The nightlife in Riga reflects why it is fast becoming a popular destination for hens and stags. There are a number of clubs and bars as well as slightly more salubrious haunts, although these do not impose on an otherwise attractive city. Restaurants are also in abundance, serving a variety of foods from around the world, so whatever your budget you are bound to find a cuisine you enjoy while on holiday in Riga.
