Be prepared to fall in love with Kerala. India's greenest state, Kerala surely ranks as one of the world's must-see destinations. Its easy going charm, the warmth of its welcome, and the abundance of its nature leaves an impression that's hard to shake off - and hard to resist. A cosmopolitan corner of India, thanks to centuries spent trading with European and African merchants, locals subscribe to Hinduism and Christianity in equal measure - with striking Catholic basilicas and Hindu temples scattered throughout the land's rich green tapestry.

Spiritually rich and healthy, Keralites have the country's highest life expectancy and the lowest infant mortality rates. Kerala is one of India's cleanest and most wealthy states - even more so these days as international tourists - and tour operators - clamour for a slice of this heavenly coast.

Traditional tharavadu cottages - coconut thatched and totally charming - have been converted into lavish holiday homes, and five star resorts line the beach front. And what a beach front - mile after mile of pristine white sands, swaying palms and inviting, deep-blue waters await all those who chose to holiday in this enchanted corner of India.
