Full of fascinating history and breathtaking scenery, a holiday to Ireland will delight all ages. From the traditional music of the bodhran drum to the infamous pint of Guiness served slowly, Ireland prides itself on its traditions and there are plenty of examples of these wherever you may go. From the Halloween Festival in Londonderry, the Dublin Fringe Festival for aspiring thespians, to the Belfast Festival at Queen's, the cultural background of the country is explored through the mediums of comedy, music and acting year round.
Sporting activities in Ireland are plentiful and varied, but the main focus is on the world-class golf courses and extensive walking routes through the mountainous countryside. The spectacular lakes and rivers around Ireland also provide excellent opportunities for fishing, as well as a spot of whale and bird watching.
Shopping in Ireland is diverse and can range from hand-made arts, crafts and jewellery to designer goods. The larger cities such as Dublin and Belfast have the best shopping opportunities, offering larger shopping centres and eateries.
A holiday in Ireland wouldn't be complete without sampling some of the delicious steak and seafood restaurants around the country, using only the freshest of local produce. Many of the bars and pubs also serve food, and tend to be the focus of local nightlife, with many offering live music and endless pints of ale.
