Holidays to Kololi

It's the huge sweep of fresh, soft sand that you'll notice first. Kololi's beach, while beautiful and serviced with all the facilities you'll need, still looks natural, unspoiled and remote. It's actually one of The Gambia's most popular stretches, but its refreshingly undeveloped and relaxing. This uncrowded sandy beach stretches for miles to the fishing village of Tanji and beyond to South Senegal. For birdwatchers, The Gambia guarantees a riot of colour - Afro-tropical birds, Northern migrants who come to spend their winters in the tropical sunshine, and Gambia's own flocks promise a spectacle you'll never forget. Lively holidaymakers will enjoy Kololi's range of activities, from Fishing, Beach Volleyball and Body Surfing to golf. The Gambia's newest golf course is situated at The Kololi Beach Club. An eighteen hole par three course with its forgiving fairways and browns (that's Gambian for 'greens'!). Beginners and experts are both welcome. Nearby Bijilo Forest park is a treat. Lush gardens and twisting pathways lined with vine covered trees offer aerial antics as monkeys swing and holler alongside, in the treetops. The park sweeps down to meet the dunes, with wonderful picnic spots tucked away offering private sunbathing spots. Botanical parks and craft markets offer great daytime, stress-free enjoyment while, at night, Jembrey Fever and Tropicana Club offer live bands, discos and the odd rumble in the jungle - a vibrant end to another perfect Kololi day.
