If you're looking for a place to dive, or to learn to dive, you've found it. Ras Um Sid offers some of the best scuba diving in the Red Sea. This unique, modern, clean and stylish resort - actually a continuation of the popular Sharm el Sheikh resort, yet, out on its own headland, feeling pleasantly apart from the bustling centre of Sharm.

Ras Um Sid's cliff top links Na'ama Bay and the bay of Sharm El Maya, with Ras Um Sid centrally situated about 5 minutes drive from Sharm in one direction and Na'ama in the other. The resort is most famous for its coral reefs, but most of its hotels are perched loftily on its high cliff, overlooking the shimmering waters of the Red Sea. Cable cars whisk you to the sands in no time, or you can take a shuttle bus.

Ras Um Sid just ten minutes from charming El Maya, the bay area old town of Sharm El Sheikh. The picturesque bay is a natural harbour and home to many traditional fishing boats, seafood stalls and craft markets. The beautiful sandy beach is lined with swaying palm trees providing natural shade for the sun worshippers.

This strip of coast, running north from Sharm through to Ras Um Sid, Na'ama Bay and Shark's Bay is one continuous coastal entertainment complex, with upmarket hotels, malls, and restaurants - the fish restaurant on the beach at Shark's bay is superb, while Na'ama Bay's Cactus disco is always busy. Shoppers will love EL Maya's traditional market.
