Holidays to Cairo

The home of the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx, of course, Cairo is a bustling metropolis chock-full of twisting mini-suburbs that ooze cosmopolitan character.  

This is a 2,000-year-old city that has undergone a series of different hostile occupancies throughout its history, with each successive landlord developing another architectural renaissance presumably randomly alongside the previous ones.  

The result is a delightful hotchpotch of Arabian, Turkish, Ottoman, French and English design and religious influences that unite with the seemingly chaotic way of Egyptian life to create an all-pervading atmosphere that, even right up to the edge of the River Nile, will certainly enchant and, at times, exasperate!
