On the south coast of Cyprus, Limassol the second largest town on the island is a popular base from which to explore the island. As a holiday and entertainment resort, the town offers a multitude of all year round activities, from visiting the historical sites of the Ancient Kingdom of Amathus and the vast Greco-Roman site with its amphitheatre to laying around on one of the beautiful sandy and shingle beaches.
Other attractions include the long seafront promenade, and traditional shopping avenues, lively nightlife and the two spectacular festivals held here. Popular with young people looking for a week long party on a last minute holiday in Limassol, the town has a variety of bars and clubs, really coming alive at night - it certainly has the reputation of being the liveliest town on the island.The ultra modern shopping centres are a shopper's paradise; they are home to all the international brands and the smaller shops of local produce. The town's carefree holiday atmosphere, matched by the gaiety and lively character of its people, its fun-loving reputation and the best nightlife on the island makes a break in Limassol a great holiday in the sun.
