The Spanish province of Almeria offers a vast expanse of coastland with long beaches, secluded coves, and Moorish villages of whitewashed houses and winding streets. This is one of the most prosperous provinces in Spain, as well as one of the most popular with tourists offering more than 3,000 hours of sunshine annually.
The landscape of the region is varied, ranging from the green mountains of Las Alpujarras, the dry riverbeds of the valleys and the nature reserve at Cabo de Gata to the arid, ochre coloured dunes of the Tabernas Desert.
