Holidays to Beijing

Like many places nowadays, Beijing is a fascinating blend of the ancient and modern, and yet this is a city that looks and feels completely unique. 

The Forbidden City, an inner city palace for so long closed to outsiders, is a stunning complex of temples, royal wings and courtyards that could easily take a day to explore, as will a visit to the Summer Palace's parks and pagodas with the sprawling Tiananmen Square. 

Shopping is also an experience all of its own. Beijing's street markets and electronics stores offer dazzling marketing ploys to compare with any the West has to offer. Beijing will host the Olympic Games in 2008, so a visit now will give you a pre-Olympic hype experience that you'll never forget.
