Holidays to Costa Do Sauipe

Purpose built, preened and perfectly situated, Costa do Sauipe rises from a virgin stretch of coast north of Salvador. It's a community devoted to providing hassle-free, comfortable family holidays where everything you need is close at hand. 

Nothing's been overlooked here, from the bustling village square with its boutiques and craft stalls, its colonial style architecture and its lush planting. For many visitors, Costa do Sauipe comes pretty close to paradise. The relatively level streets, crisscrossed with bridges, streams and cycle tracks make for a safe, family friendly environment, while the active can easily dive into all manner of sporting activities, from tennis to horseriding. 

Of course, this is a theme park, and not too similar to real, gritty Brazilian towns. But Salvador, just over an hour away, offers enough authentic colour for one holiday - and you should certainly try to find the time to explore this wonderful, vibrant city. 

Costa do Sauipe's location was well chosen - its beach is a soft, gently shelving stretch of sand, lightly cooled by an onshore breeze, and with watersports enough to go around. Swimming is tricky on some days, as the current and undertow can be strong, but there are plenty of wonderful swimming pools in resort for relaxing by (or in). 

Rustically furnished hotels, villas and apartments cluster around cobbled streets, and rub shoulders with colonial squares and health spas - offering plenty of diversions all day long. By night, the resort's clubs, bars and restaurants offer low key thrills such as open air concerts in the Vila Nova complex and discos under the stars.
