Holidays to Carvoeiro

You can still sense that, if the tourists left tomorrow, pretty little Carvoeiro could carry on, just as busily, as the prosperous fishing village it's been for generations. Such is the resort's delightful spot, cleft between the rocky headlands, sheltered from the winds, and enjoying a fine natural harbour. Believe everything you read - Carvoeiro is a beautiful place, perhaps the prettiest spot on the Algarve. 

Climb above the village, to the hillsides dotted with gleaming white villages and lush pine and cypress plantations and view the sunsets over the bay and you'll be hooked. The town's beach is only pocket sized but it's pretty and clean - and there are fabulous beaches within an easy drive or stroll away. One of the nicest is Praia Vale de Centianes, about 20 minutes' coastal walk away. Look for the steps that twist and turn their way down from the clifftop, and you'll be rewarded with a delightfully secluded cove. Package holidays in Carvoeiro take advantage of the resort's refined spread across the neighbouring headlands - with their patchwork of holiday villas and hotels, all enjoying the facilities of downtown Carvoerio which, although quite commercialised, makes for a pleasant base, with its good range of restaurants offering keenly priced, and delicious seafood and steaks. 

A good daytrip suggestion would be to visit the historic inland town of Silves where you can explore the Moorish castle, and even more traditional Portuguese restaurants. Back at the coast, where you'll doubtless be spending most of your time, you can soak up the sun - cheap holidays to Carvoeiro offer a good chance of warmth and sunny days whenever you travel. While Carvoeiro has an array of bars and a disco, those seeking bigger thrills might find the resort a little too peaceful for their liking. For its year-round Algarve sun, good range of restaurants and easy proximity to the grottoes along the coast, last minute holidays to Carvoeiro come highly recommended.
