Holidays to Albufeira

If you're intent on experiencing the ultimate Algarve holiday we can think of no better place than Albufeira. Quite simply, this resort has it all. Of course, no-one is pretending that Albufeira offers a traditional, peaceful Portuguese retreat. But that's not the point - and, anyway, there are peaceful nature trails, and timeless villages just a few kilometres inland from here, should you seek sanctuary from the bustle. 

Albufeira has no shortage of fantastic Blue Flag beaches on its doorstep - from the white, whisper light sands of Praia do Inatel to the Old Town's Praia Do Penaco (reached via a tunnel from town), with its rocky turret a distinctive landmark. For the energetic, package holidays to Albufeira offer thrills enough to leave you breathless - from Quad bike tracks, water parks and watersports schools to, for the more adventurours, gymnastics training and wreck diving. The fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down - Albufeira's nightlife is legendary. Whatever style of dining, whatever type of music, whatever's your poison - Albufeira's restaurants, clubs and bars won't disappoint. 

And did we mention that the Algarve is a Golfer's paradise? There are no fewer than 12 courses within an easy drive of the resort's centre - some with green fees of less than E20 - with those stunning views over the cliffs and out to sea adding to the thrills (but trust us, the onshore breeze will thwart you at every hole). Strict building laws mean that, despite dramatic development, Albufeira is still a pretty place, with its whitewashed villas clinging precariously to the cliffs, and climbing the hills behind. Due to its vast range of accommodation, and its yearly calendar of charter flights, cheap holidays to Albufeira - even last minute holidays to Albufeira - are plentiful, and offer all this fun at incredibly good value. Save time to experience what's left of the old fishing village - it's still there between the late-nite bars and discos. This town was once a Moorish stronghold, and the Church of Sao Sebastiao dates from the area's more recent, Christian past.
