Agistri is the smallest of the Saronic islands, and it is also the greenest. It's extremely picturesque and one of the least developed of all the Greek Islands.

The island is an ideal resort for those who want to avoid the crowds and are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. The island offers excellent sunbathing conditions with its typically Mediterranean climate and golden sandy beaches. Agistri also offers beautiful walks in the cooler, pine-forested interior, if you want a break from the sun.

Agistri is ideally located for making short visits to other nearby Saronic islands such as Aegina, Poros, Hydra or Spetses. It is also possible to make day trips to see the Acropolis in Athens and special evening boat trips are arranged for performances at the ancient theatre of Epidavros during the summer festival. In the summer, evening cruises are available which sail around the island at sunset.

Agistri only has around one thousand permanent inhabitants but there are still a reasonable number of shops and amenities. More sophisticated shopping can be found by taking a water taxi to Aegina just a few minutes away. There are numerous tavernas, restaurants and bars on Agistri itself where you can enjoy long lazy dinners. And you can always be sure of a warm welcome whichever part of this gorgeous island you decide to explore.
